Project Tarjim Provides Simultaneous Interpretation for Jordan’s National Preparatory Workshop to End Violence Against Children

Project Tarjim provided professional simultaneous interpretation services for the National Preparatory Workshop for the Second Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children, held on 31 August 2026 at The St. Regis Amman, Jordan.

The national workshop brought together members of the National Preparatory Team, government representatives, national stakeholders, civil society organizations, and international partners as part of Jordan’s preparations for the Second Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children, scheduled to take place on 18–19 November 2026 in Manila, Philippines.

Supporting International and National Dialogue Through Interpretation

As part of the event, Project Tarjim provided professional English–Arabic simultaneous interpretation, supporting effective communication between Arabic- and English-speaking participants throughout the workshop.

The interpretation services helped facilitate discussions among national and international stakeholders on child protection, violence prevention, national commitments, and the implementation of Jordan’s priorities ahead of the Manila Conference.

Jordan’s Preparations for the 2026 Manila Conference

The workshop focused on reviewing Jordan’s progress since the First Global Ministerial Conference to End Violence Against Children, held in Bogotá in 2024.

Jordan has been participating in the Global Initiative to End Violence Against Children and has developed national commitments through consultations involving government institutions, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.

The 2026 preparatory meeting provided an opportunity to review achievements, identify lessons learned and remaining challenges, and establish updated and measurable national commitments ahead of the Manila Conference.

Aligning National Commitments with the 2026–2030 National Plan

A key focus of the workshop was the alignment of Jordan’s updated commitments with the National Multisectoral Plan for the Prevention and Response to Child Protection, Family Violence, and Violence Against Women and Girls (2026–2030).

Participants discussed national priorities and worked through dedicated working groups to develop commitments that are measurable, implementable, and suitable for monitoring and follow-up.

The working groups focused on three key areas:

• Access to services and support for survivors
• Institutional, legislative, and financial frameworks
• Prevention and community empowerment

The results of the working-group discussions were presented to participants, contributing to the development of Jordan’s updated national commitments for the upcoming Manila Conference.

Bringing Stakeholders Together

The workshop provided a collaborative platform for representatives of government institutions, civil society organizations, and international partners to exchange perspectives and strengthen coordination around the prevention of violence against children.

Participating stakeholders included the National Council for Family Affairs, the Institute for Family Health, SOS Children’s Villages, the Justice Center for Legal Aid, and other relevant national and international partners.

The event emphasized the importance of multi-sectoral cooperation in strengthening child protection systems, preventing violence, improving access to services, and ensuring sustainable national action.
