English Subtitling for Jordanian Drama and Documentaries

English Subtitling for Jordanian Drama & Documentaries

Bringing Jordanian Stories to English-Speaking Audiences

Project Tarjim successfully completed Arabic-to-English subtitling for two Jordanian drama series produced by Issam Hijjawi Production and Distribution: Al Oqab Wa Al Afra and Something from the Past.

The project also included English subtitling for two documentaries exploring important aspects of Jordanian society. One documentary focuses on coexistence between Muslims and Christians, while the other highlights the experiences of sanitation workers and the social and professional challenges they face.

Preserving Meaning, Emotion, and Cultural Context

Our professional subtitling team translated dialogue from Jordanian and Bedouin Arabic into natural, accurate, and engaging English, ensuring that the original meaning, emotions, cultural references, and individual voices were preserved.

The project covered the complete subtitling process, including:

  • Arabic-to-English translation
  • Subtitle timing and synchronization
  • Speaker identification
  • Subtitle formatting
  • Readability and subtitle segmentation
  • Cultural adaptation and contextual accuracy
Each subtitle was carefully adapted to remain concise, readable, and synchronized with the dialogue and visual context.
